Meeting with France's 'Arctic Ambassador'

On Monday Diana met former French Prime Minister and former MEP Michel Rocard at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Paris. Michel Rocard was appointed 'Polar Ambassador' by President Sarkozy in March 2009 with the responsibility for international relations for the Arctic and Antarctic. Diana and he met to discuss areas of mutual interest regarding the Arctic in particular the EU's bid to join the Arctic Council as Observer status and the commemoration of the signing of the Antarctic Treaty in Washington later in November.
